COACH KOZ DIRECTED AND INSTRUCTED OVER 200 BASKETBALL CAMPS
OVER 28,000 BOYS AND GIRLS HAVE GRADUATED FROM HIS CAMPS.

CAMP HISTORY 

     Dan Kosmoski enters his 23rd season as head coach at St. Olaf in 2016-17.   Kosmoski led St. Olaf to its first MIAC Playoff title “2013-2014 MIAC Tournament Champions” and NCAA Division III appearance in school history in "2013-14". Kosmoski was named the “MIAC's Coach of the Year and the D3hoops.com West Region Coach of the Year”. The Oles have finished in the top four of the MIAC in the last four seasons.  NCAA Sweet 16, 2014 & 2015 Season, 2nd Round NCAA 2015-2016.  The Oles have made six trips to the MIAC's six-team playoff in Kosmoski's tenure.  St. Olaf also qualified for the event when four teams made the cut, in "1997-98", in Kosmoski's fourth season.                    
      "Coach Koz grew up in Owatonna and was a standout student-athlete at Owatonna High School.  Dan earned 10 varsity letters in high school.  He held all-state honors in football, basketball and track.  Coach Koz was recruited to play Basketball for the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. His Gopher Team earned a 24-3 overall win-loss record and had a 15-3 record in the big ten.   Koz's proudest accomplishment was graduating from the University of Minnesota with
a Master's Degree in Education.

     Before serving as the Oles head coach, Kosmoski was an assistant at the University of Minnesota under Jim Dutcher, Jimmy Williams and Clem Haskins.  Koz’s tenure included the 1989 NCAA "Sweet 16" the 1990 NCCA "elite 8" and several NIT 93-championship appearances. 
     Kosmoski has been directing basketball camps for the past 25 years.  He is a very familiar face in every high school throughout our state. 
     Coach is grateful to be able share his Minnesota heritage, faith and love of Basketball with
today’s youth. 
Coach Koz is an active member of “Athletes in Action” having participated in Campus Ministry and Coaching Basketball Camps in Poland and Spain.
